This week's image is taken from a trip to London's Science Museum. A great day out was had by all, that is is all 140 12yr. olds!
The Science Museum is now very interactive and encourages children to get hands on, especially in the Launch Pad section.
Having said that this was taken in the Energy Gallery on the 2nd floor. The designers clearly knew what they were doing, how could they resist?
Week Eleven - 13th March
This week I spent some time editing the images taken at the museum, trying to find something that would be more than a snap and which might be a possible future exhibition entry. This is my first real attempt, called 'Bubble Fun'
Week Twelve - 20th March
This week was spent working on a theme suggested to me by a friend at my church. He is going to be speaking on the theme of forgiveness and wanted some pictures to illustrate his talks, quite a challenge.
This one is probably one of my favorites to date, although I am working on others, looking at the topic from different perspectives.
Week Thirteen - 27th March
Spring has sprung -the garden is full of colour, especially with the yellow of the daffodils. I often feel that the common place is overlooked and this applies to the plants in our gardens. So out I went with my camera to capture something of the beauty of the spring flowers.
I like the way the petals are translucent enough to allow the sunlight through and show the delicate folds. I deliberately used a shallow'ish' depth of field to show the bud behind, hinting at more to come.
Week Fourteen - 3rd April
Some people will have seen the "Super, full moon" which was evident on 19th March.

We were lucky in that it was a beautifully clear night so I went out with my camera in an attempt to capture the phenomenon. The images stayed in my camera, this is unusual for me as it is normal for me to download and selectively edit my pics as soon as possible. I finally got round to looking at the results this week.
For those who are interested this is taken with my Olympus 70-300mm lens, at 300mm, ISO100, f20, 1/60sec, on a tripod with the mirror locked to avoid any movement.
Week Fifteen - 10th April
On Friday I arrived home to find that a converted 2nd hand camera had arrived from the USA. A few weeks ago I had purchased a camera which had been converted to take infra red pictures.
So yesterday, armed with my new toy, I headed out to experiment. I have no idea about taking IR pics so it really was a learning curve, how do I set up the camera, which settings and how do I post process to get the best out of my pics?
This is one of my first attempts, I will put more, along with an explanation of what I did and where, in the main body of my blog.
Week Sixteen - 17th April
Spring has sprung and I am a great believer in getting out in your local surroundings and photographing what is around you. Of course its nice to go to exotic far away places but, to some people, where I live might be exotic!
Ashridge Forest is a lovely area very close to me, it is a nature and landscape photographer's paradise. I am neither of those so I use it to try and practise my skills in the hope that one day I will be able to capture that elusive landscape shot that I am pleased with, whether it be local or exotic!
In the main body of my blog I have uploaded three pics which I am pleased with, this one has been chosen to feature here because it shows what Ashridge is about. I have applied a slight Orton effect to give it a dreamy feel, this has gone down well with several people I have shown it to.
Week Seventeen - 24th April
This week was a lovely week with several opportunities for getting out with my camera. Firstly I had a trip to France, see main blog post for some pics, and on Saturday I went with my family to see Les Miserables in London. A superb performance which I thoroughly enjoyed. We arrived a little early and, as it was such a lovely day, we decided to wander around Chinatown for a while. I always carry my small point and shoot camera so out it came, I found it strangely liberating having one small camera making me unobtrusive amongst all the other tourists. Here are a few of the images I have processed.
As we arrived we also came across this very peaceful demonstration
